Food Advertisements

If you have always wanted to get more bang for your buck at a fast food restaurant, then you might choose Taco Bell. This advertisement might look delicious with all of the food it contains. It contains 1 bacon wrap supreme as well as 1 cheesy gordita crunch and a 32oz fountain drink. Now, it all does look good, but looks can be deceiving.

I feel the advertisement tries to persuade the audience by making the meal look huge in the advertisements as well as the big font. When someone sees the huge font and a huge meal in an advertisement, it usually will catch someone’s eye. The person immediately wants to try it because it is a new food at the restaurant.  It shows how much food you can get in the box as well as what is inside of each item of food. They use bright colors for each “box”. The purple background makes the advertisement stand out among the rest. It is a new product from Taco Bell, so, the regulars at Taco Bell will most likely try it because they love Taco Bell and enjoy it. It is a way to bring in business in this economy, but at what cost? Are you willing to risk the health of people? The advertisement is a bit manipulative because they want you to believe that since there are vegetables in the food, it makes the food healthy, but in reality, it is really not that healthy for you. 1 big box meal from Taco Bell is about 1,220 calories. The big box has 3,510 milligrams of sodium, 54 grams of fat, 105 milligrams cholesterol and 39. 5% of the calories are fat. That proves to show that even if the advertisements show vegetables, the meal might not be healthy.

  3. That's crazy how much calories it is in one meal. No offence, but I can't understand how you Americans can drink so much soda all the time! I would probably don't drink more than 8 oz! :-)
